  • Samara Moni: The singer and songwriter known as Samara Moni has released her debut R&B and soul single, "I'm Sorry." The track has been proudly published on the Galaxy Orlando Records independent music label without the support or influence of the corporate music industry. With roots in traditional rhythm 'n' blues and a modern, razor-sharp studio production, "I'm Sorry" by Samara Moni is easily one of the classiest, most soulful tracks of the year and a stunning introduction to this arresting singer from Florida. Orlando's Samara Moni has a resonant, natural singing voice that bears the refinement and elegance of a veteran chanteuse with several decades of experience, while yet retaining the clarion, crystalline quality of her actual youth. Likewise, her style on "I'm Sorry" recalls the whispery tone and silky smooth texture of performers like Sade and Dido, while her precision rivals that of Adele and Amy Winehouse.

  • : B. Christopher, like most composers, is not a household name. However, if you own a television, you have probably heard his music. With over 3,000 placements annually on virtually every channel, it would be difficult not to hear his work. Like most studio musicians, his time is consumed recording. That is not to say he is a stranger to the stage. He toured extensively throughout North America for twenty years. While on a break from the road in 2002, he was contacted by the music director of ABC's "All My Children" looking for blues music. According to Christopher, "it was just the right place at the right time." As the opportunities continued to grow in the studio, it became clear that the focus needed to move strictly to recording. Inevitably, the hundreds of sessions would evolve into albums. The albums, HIGH TIDE and LITTLE ROOMS AND BROKEN DOORS are The B. Christopher Band's debut into the adult contemporary/modern jazz genre. The balance between melody, technique, composition and improvisation is not an easy one to strike. But when listening to Christopher, one would think otherwise. With one foot in modern jazz, the other in the blues and an innate sense of melody, this instrumental offering is sure to please even the most discerning pallet. It is these qualities that helped attract some of the biggest studio musicians in the business to this project. Names like Nathan East, Anton Fig and Kenny Aronoff have all lent their talents to this debut.

Reared by her mother, Annette, and her church organist father, Floyd Harris – both of deep spiritual faith and intense believers in the art of music - Jeanette and her older brother, Michael, received their love of God and family genetically. "When I was 5, my father put a guitar in my hands," Jeanette begins. "A year later, he switched me to piano with a private teacher. I didn't like it. Reading treble and bass clefs was so overwhelming that I would cry, but it gave me a great jumpstart. One day while driving me to 4th grade, Mom was playing a cassette by Grover Washington, Jr. I remember looking at the picture of his alto sax. It was beautiful and Grover made it look so hip. I felt it would be the perfect instrument for me." Jeanette played saxophone and piano from grade school to high school where band teacher Steve Alcala also had her play in the Fresno City College jazz band even before she graduated high school. She won numerous awards and accolades, which led to a scholarship to attend Berklee in Boston where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. Chosen by the Brazilian International Press Awards' 2012 Colégio Eleitoral composed of U.S. based Brazilian groups and community organizations as best Brazilian Female Singer living in the U.S. confirms Fabiana's ability to connect her fans to her music. Fabiana's songs are a combination of jazz fusion with the older rhythms of Brazil such as bossa nova, baião, and samba. Her interpretations are passionate, sensual and exciting. Her live performances are a celebration of Brazilian soul and culture – rich in percussion and expression with a relentless zeal for life. Fabiana is Talk 2 Brazil's 2012 Person of the Year.

  • : San Francisco Bay Area guitarist and composer R James brings a uniquely expressive and melodic style to the contemporary jazz scene. To quote veteran producer Paul Brown, "you have your own voice," R James was highly influenced in study and deep appreciation of the wide range of styles represented by Wes Montgomery, John Coltrane, Larry Carlton, Jeff Golub and Lee Ritenour. His songwriting efforts led to winning the Bethlehem Jazz Contest in 2000, which featured the original "MontgomeryLand" also appearing on his debut album "Elizabeth's Dream". R James' composition style has been described as wide ranging and similar to artists such as Jeff Lorber, Brian Culbertson, Bob James, and Pat Metheny along with the harmony influences of Steely Dan. His debut CD "Elizabeth's Dream" produced by Paul Brown, is driven by the mature and melodic style that R James masterfully demonstrates throughout this album. His is an exciting new voice coming to contemporary jazz. R James can be found playing live throughout the Bay Area and in Festivals throughout the state. Check this site for performance dates. Making dreams reality is living life to the fullest. R James is clearly very appreciative of everyone that has come into his life to help on this first project, the first of many more to come.

  • : Songwriter/Producer James Day grew up listening to the great soul performers and producers of the 70s, and idolized artists such as Chaka Kahn and Quincy Jones. His dream was to become a professional stage singer and dancer, and in the 80s he attended New York's American Academy of Dramatic Arts to pursue that dream. Tragically, while in school he was diagnosed with Meniers Syndrome, a debilitating disease that resulted in severe bouts of dizziness and his loss of hearing in one ear. The disease essentially felled him for over two years and caused a necessary change in his life plan. Day looked to his love of music as a way to get his life back on track, and he built a home recording studio and began working exclusively toward becoming a songwriter and producer. His hard work over the next decade paid off, as he achieved critical success, winning the Billboard Magazine's International Songwriting Competition, the John Lennon Song Contest, and an award from the National Academy of Popular Music/Songwriter's Hall of Fame presented by legendary songwriter Hal David. As the 90s and early 00s went on, he landed songs on a number of major label artist albums and compilations as well as network television shows. Despite the success he was having, Day's observations of the state of modern music left him extremely frustrated. "The LP's I grew up with, full of rich chords, moving melodies, lush vocal arrangements, and well crafted lyrics, had been replaced by CD's put together by track makers, beat programmers and samplers with words 'slapped on' that rarely seemed to move me the way the music I grew up with did. It just didn't seem to have the same level of care & musicianship that went into the records of my idols." So Day made it his mission to re-establish the role of the songwriter and arranger in popular music. Working on a shoestring budget but with a passion for his project, in 2005 Day recruited a number of established vocalists and put together his first project, the four-song EP Remember When. Day's goal for Remember When was to re-create a hot 80s groove around well-performed, superbly-crafted, infectiously melodic songs - and to use this as a springboard for future larger projects. And in that regard it was an unadulterated success. While budgetary constraints unfortunately limited the amount of organic instrumentation on the EP, Day left no no question as to his capability as a songwriter, especially on the excellent opening number, "Brick By Brick" (featuring Audrey Wheeler), and the first single, "Don't Waste the Pretty" (with Jeff Ramsey), both of which are marvelous songs that are worthy of radio airplay. Remember When was released in late 2005 and almost immediately struck a nerve in the underground soul movement, especially in Europe where the disc has been a smash. Day followed Remember When with Better Days, an excellent full debut album that reworked the cuts from Remember When and added a basketful of great new compositions. In early 2007 Day cut more songs and prepared a reworked Better Days for release in the US. Day continued is uncanny ability to attract ubertalented guests on 2009's, Natural Things, with a featured cast including Audrey Wheeler, Mikelyn Roderick, Walter Beasley, Gavin Christopher, Ian Martin, Jeff Ramsey and more. The album moved from pop to soul to funk beautifully and, with cuts like "Outta The Funk," the smooth "Speak Love" and the title track, was another fine representation of Day's strong songwriting skills. In 2013, Day released Seasons and Reasons just in time for the holiday season. In addition to some of the guest vocalists from his prior albums, he brought in longtime favorites Trina Broussard and Donnie as well as up-and-coming singers Cleveland Jones and Karen Fiore, for an album that paid tribute to pop, soul and dance sounds of the 80s. It was another indie hit. Day is currently working on collaborations with a number of additional stars, including Maysa, and plans the release of an album of new songs and remixes of old hits, scheduled for release in the Spring of 2016 and tentatively titled Repertoire.
